7 Ask, and it shall be given you
The first level of importunate prayer mention by Jesus is ask and it shall be given. Asking in this passage of scripture can be defined as, to beg, to crave, to call out or demand. This is not a casual asking but it’s a prayer the cries out to someone in great authority for intervention. This type of prayer is a humble acknowledgement of higher authority as the last result for deliverance. This level prayer includes intensity and earnestness that borders on desperation. This type of prayer calls out with a loud and strong cry in order to get someone’s attention. David give us a perfect example and result of in crying out prayer. Ps 55:17 Evening and morning and at noon I will pray and cry aloud and He shall her my voice. The word Hebrew here for cry aloud hamah Strongs #1993 which is a connation of humming growl or roar. It means to murmur, growl, roar, cry aloud, mourn, rage, sound, make noise, tumult, be clamorous, be disquieted, be loud, be moved, be troubled, be in an uproar. There is a generation of women who will not be silence by fear, religion or indifference. Women will gather in places of prayer to create uproar in the spirit over the complacent passionless church. There will be a tumultuous sound the will put terror in the heart of the enemy. The sound will cause the earth to shake and God to rend the heavens and come down in power and glory.
Ps 18:6-9 paints a picture of how God responds to the cry of the righteous.
Psalm 18:6-9New King James Version (NKJV)
6 In my distress I called upon the Lord,
And cried out to my God;
He heard my voice from His temple,
And my cry came before Him, even to His ears.
7 Then the earth shook and trembled;
The foundations of the hills also quaked and were shaken,
Because He was angry.
8 Smoke went up from His nostrils,
And devouring fire from His mouth;
Coals were kindled by it.
9 He bowed the heavens also, and came down
With darkness under His feet.
Those who ask and cry out to Him moves His hand and heart. He comes with mighty acts upon the earth. These prayer gathering will resemble the books of acts that will shake the very foundations of the earth setting captives free and bring healing and deliverance to the bound and revival upon the earth.
